Averything is a hyperlocal guide to Bengaluru — the cafés, gyms, turfs, tailors and weekend happenings that make a neighbourhood feel like yours. Made by the people who live here, for the people who live here.
Why we started
Where should we actually go? Not the top Google result three kilometres away with a thousand reviews from people who don't live here. The good filter coffee two lanes down. The turf behind the lake that opens before sunrise. The laundry that actually returns your clothes when they says they will.
That information existed — it just lived in the wrong places. In WhatsApp groups you had to be invited to. In a neighbour's head. On a flyer taped inside the lift. You could live somewhere for three years and still not know the best thing on your own street.
We started Averything in Carmelaram because that's where we live, and because it felt absurd that the most useful map of a place was the one nobody had bothered to write down. So we started writing it down — one café, one turf, one neighbourhood at a time.
What we believe
A good guide knows that the café two lanes away matters more than the highly-rated one across the flyover. We map by how people actually move through a neighbourhood, not by what's nearest on a map.
Every listing is checked by a person — real hours, a working number, photos that look like the place on a Tuesday. No paid stars, no review farms. If it's on Averything, a neighbour stood at the door.
The dabba kitchen, the one-chair barber, the turf that opens at six. These rarely show up on the big apps, and they're exactly what makes a neighbourhood worth living in. We start with them.
Not an algorithm guessing what you'll click. A short, honest answer to 'where should we actually go?' — the way you'd get it from someone who's lived on the street for years.
A neighbourhood isn't a list of businesses. It's the handful of places that make it feel like yours.
The Averything idea, in one line
How we work
We'd rather know one neighbourhood completely than every neighbourhood vaguely. So we go street by street, and we don't call an area live until it actually is.
Our best listings come from the people who live around them — the WhatsApp groups, the morning walkers, the regulars. The guide is theirs as much as ours.
No ransom for a basic profile, no pay-to-rank games. A small shop and a big chain get the same clean listing. Visibility is earned by being good, not by spending the most.
Where we're headed
We're mapping Bengaluru one neighbourhood at a time — Carmelaram, Bellandur, Koramangala, HSR Layout, Indiranagar — and we won't spread thin to look bigger than we are. A guide that knows one place completely is worth more than an app that knows every place vaguely.
The goal is simple, and it's a long way off: make it so that whatever you need within a short auto ride, you can find it, trust it, and reach it in under a minute. When that's true for every neighbourhood we touch, we'll have built something worth keeping.
